Kelso sand dunes - California beauty outdoor photoshoot

Desert Lifestyle and Fashion Photography Las Vegas

Look Book for Desert Daisy Jewelry

When Emma from @desertdaisyjewelry and I exchanged ideas I was thrilled to learn that she wanted to shoot in the same location I had been attracted to: the desert dunes in Kelso, California.

We wanted to create a sophisticated outdoor photoshoot to show off her new smoky crystals collection and also the elaborate feather headpiece from @theoddportraits. Local Las Vegas Fashion designer has a vivid imagination and creates fantastic, futuristic accessories like this mohawk. You can see more of here work at The Odd Portrait.

The story was one of courage and confidence: "A desert princess sets off in to the unknown to find her own path in life. She does not know what the future hold but she gather her strength and sets off."

Shooting on sand was no easy task. We had to be very careful about not leaving any foot print and not getting the equipment and hair pieces covered in sand. To take some low shots I sunk into the dunes up to my knees,  always trying to save my camera out of the sand.

The sunset was spectacular and thanks to the amazing team we captured some fantastic shots of the adventurous, travelling princess  @desertgypsyfox , setting off on her adventure.

The sand dunes in Kelso, California are a stunning location for photoshoot and I would recomend it to anyone looking to shoot beauty, boudoir or fashion.

Enjoy the video from the shoot and some final images here.
